The Economy, Capitalism, National Debt
Capitalism The success of our capitalist system in America will ultimately be determined by what There are two key components of capitalism: (1) The Creation of Wealth (2) The Sharing of Wealth We need to be good at both of these to become stronger and more successful as a country. The creation of wealth is what free and fair markets for goods allow us to do. It is Freedom, stability in government, and capitalism all go together. You need all three. America––a melting pot of freedom and economic opportunity (JRE Link, 2019-0904 (Wed), COM-STR2). Capitalism speaks these words about America—That's the best middle class I've ever had (JRE Link, 2018-0802 (Thu), COM-STR2). A booming economy––there's big money in it. That's capitalism for you (JRE Link, 2018-0109 (Tue), COM-STR2). Capitalism fuels the world economy (JRE Link, 2018-0528 (Mon), COM-STR2). Capitalism makes good bread (JRE Link, 2017-1008 (Sun), COM-STR2). Never go out of the mainstream of free markets and capitalism. If capitalism is not Every country is behind in their study of capitalism. We've barely scratched the surface in learning about all the good things of capitalism (JRE Link, 2018-0508 (Tue), COM-STR2). Capitalism works. The supporting institutions of government need to be managed right Tracking capitalism's performance––GDP should be tracked monthly at all levels of GDP by industry should be implemented, not just a single measurement across all Countries must adopt good long-term, capitalism-based policies and stick with them Countries need pro-growth policies, not pro-big government policies. You must provide the fertile ground for capitalism to succeed (JRE Link, 2019-0105 (Sat), COM-STR2). You can't win in today's dynamic world economy without adhering to the capitalist Embrace capitalism more fully. Take the lid off of technological innovation and Innovation—yes. High productivity—yes. Obey free market principles. They are the principles of economic growth. It is not the role of government to set prices for goods and services in the marketplace. Coercion by government is not the basis for lasting prosperity for its citizens (JRE Link, 2017-0711 (Tue), COM-STR2). Righteousness or goodness of heart cannot be forced upon man by society. It can only Without freedom for its citizens, government cannot be trusted (JRE Link, 2017-0623 (Fri), COM-STR2). Taxation with representation is not much better than taxation without representation The purpose of government is not to punish citizens through taxation. The citizen says: If you don't mind, I'd like some privacy here from an intrusive Government overreach—reaching into my private life more and more (JRE Link, 2020-0130 (Thu), COM-STR2). Government overreach—reaching into my pocket and taking more than government's fair Government overreach—taking away my freedoms through bigger and bigger Government corruption—squandering money on questionable public works projects (JRE Link, 2020-0130 (Thu), COM-STR2). Build bridges and build roads, but use the citizens' money sparingly in government. The Perils of Socialism and Communism Carefully watch over every industry of this great nation. Let's all work together to ensure Liberals need a new philosophy on the size and scope of government. Big government is Liberals should lay aside dreams of strong, centralized control of the economy by Like in the olden days of the American Revolution in 1776, be a Patriot of freedom, not a Don't bestow more and more power upon government. Don't search out new and exciting Bottom line—stop trying to use government as a blunt instrument to achieve society's Socialism is bad policy and bad politics—a clear loser for everyone. Socialism will never be bipartisan in America. It can never succeed under any America is freedom. America is capitalism. Freedom lives and breathes in every American's heart (JRE Link, 2018-1212 (Wed), COM-STR2). We believe in the sanctity of freedom. It is who we are as Americans first and foremost (JRE Link, 2018-1212 (Wed), COM-STR2). Trust in the principle of freedom. Don't be afraid of freedom as the foundation for America's economic success. Wealth Let's place our lives in freedom's path. That's the best place for them (JRE Link, 2019-0513 (Mon), COM-STR2). The role of government is to support the sharing of wealth among free people, not to The government sector can provide support in the war against poverty, but it is not the tip Don’t confuse a strong social safety net with socialism. One is sustainable, and the other Socialism––get off that horse. It will go lame sooner or later (JRE Link, 2018-0619 (Tue), WSE-MAIN). Capitalism is the sturdy and dependable horse. Capitalism is also the fast horse (JRE Link, 2018-0619 (Tue), WSE-MAIN). Capitalism spurs us along (JRE Link, 2018-0612 (Tue), WSE-MAIN). A risky proposition––the bend-but-not-break capitalism rule of a socialist-capitalist Reinventing socialism is not a good idea. Poor countries have a very tight window to achieve economic success. Thus, Socialism is on the scrap heap of history. Let's not disturb it. It belongs there (JRE Link, 2018-0720 (Fri), COM-STR2). Socialism seeks to control market forces with its own set of made-up rules. Socialism is a mirage in the desert of economic downturn. Socialism is the gateway to economic disaster in good times or bad. Socialism––it ruins society (JRE Link, 2016-1031 (Mon), WSE-MAIN). Socialism––the sound of economic calamity in the streets (JRE Link, 2019-0511 (Sat), COM-STR2). A citizen says––The shelves are empty. Basic goods are no longer available. What was The socialist leader responds––Don't worry. Food is on the way. Emergency relief trucks There is no social safety net in a socialist country once the economic system collapses, Socialism destroys wealth in society, and the middle class along with it (JRE Link, 2019-0505 (Sun), COM-STR2). Socialism creates a big loss for society. It's not a profitable venture (JRE Link, 2019-0326 (Tue), COM-STR2). Socialism leads to stagnation in the economy. Socialism leads to hyperinflation. The Socialism eliminates competition in the marketplace (JRE Link, 2019-0326 (Tue), COM-STR2). Socialism is grossly inefficient. When government is directly managing or co-managing Socialism doesn't build an ever-growing fountain of wealth. It squanders the financial An alarmed socialist asks his fellow socialist the following questions: Were you aware that it is actually businesses in the private sector, and not government, Did you know that profit generated by businesses is what actually enriches society? Socialism leads to destruction in poor countries almost immediately in the short run, and If America ever turns to socialism, short her in the stock market (JRE Link, 2018-0915 (Sat), COM-STR2). Socialism would be the death of America and her long-term economic success (JRE Link, 2019-0201 (Fri), COM-STR2). Whatever the problem is in society, embracing the horrors of socialism is not the answer. The corrupt nature and dangers of socialism have been made manifest countless times. Socialism is not self-rule. The power of the people to govern themselves is curtailed (JRE Link, 2019-1228 (Sat), COM-STR2). Freedom is required for self-government. Strong central control of the economy by Socialism does not create economic equality among its citizens. It does great harm to all Equality is whatever the socialist leaders of your country say it is (JRE Link, 2019-0505 (Sun), COM-STR2). Socialism is more about the seizing of power and the seizing of wealth, not the sharing of Compulsion—the strong, iron hand of government—is the power and glory of the Socialist leaders live high on the hog. The corrupt leader of a socialist nation says these words––I'm rich! I'm rich! Socialism Socialism is the pathway to unlimited government power and unlimited corruption (JRE Link, 2019-0505 (Sun), COM-STR2). Beware young people! Run away from socialism. Once absolute power takes hold, there A lust for political power––to seek control over other people's lives and property––is pure What is socialism? Every college student needs to come to grips with the true answer to Travel this beautiful land, throughout as many of the fifty states as you are able, and you Socialism will not lead to a more ideal America (JRE Link, 2017-1004 (Wed), COM-STR2). Government provides the foundation for citizens to go about the work of building the Rid yourself of any thoughts of socialism early on, while still in your youth. Marry economic success. Marry freedom. Marry capitalism (JRE Link, 2018-0627 (Wed), COM-STR2). The political process is not a substitute for people helping people directly. That is what Socialism doesn't have the power to motivate people to do good of their own volition. Freedom and righteousness among the people are of secondary importance to the Socialism is an enemy to freedom. If socialism is being seriously considered by the Socialism is akin to establishing a king with absolute power over the economy and our Capitalism easily takes the first-place prize. Socialism cheats every step of the way, but still comes in a distant second (JRE Link, 2019-0406 (Sat), COM-STR2). Communism runs out of breath along the way and is unable to even finish the race (JRE Link, 2019-0406 (Sat), COM-STR2). Socialists need to abandon their corrupt ideology; communists, even more so. Professors sympathetic to, or advocates of Karl Marx's teachings can make big money at The legacy of Karl Marx and his teachings is not a good one (JRE Link, 2019-0925 (Wed), COM-STR2). A communist country trading only with other communist countries will never survive. It Communism steals from capitalism in order to survive (JRE Link, 2018-0528 (Mon), COM-STR2). Communism governments steal from their own people in order to survive. Capitalism supports freedom, communism does not. Capitalism plus freedom, not capitalism plus communism (JRE Link, 2019-0105 (Sat), COM-STR2). Communism––abusing the civil rights of workers is big business (JRE Link, 2019-0530 (Thu), COM-STR2). The communist leader says the people: Freedom doesn't matter. Just do what you're told The laws of the land in communist regimes are created out of whole cloth by the whims Communism brings about the worst of humanity's ills (JRE Link, 2019-0709 (Tue), COM-STR2). Communism is bad for the world and always has been. Communist regimes and their citizens need to realize that their governments are The people living in a communist country say these words––We're in the muddle of bad Let loose of the Soviet Union mindset. Don't follow the old Soviet way of doing things (JRE Link, 2018-0414 (Sat), COM-STR2). Hello Communism, this is Freedom. Step aside, please (JRE Link, 2018-0901 (Sat), COM-STR2). Communism, even more than socialism, fuels economic stagnation and government Freedom is the standard of excellence in government throughout the world. Thus, America's economic success terrifies autocratic leaders. It bears powerful testimony to The only thing autocratic regimes provide in poor countries is a nice military parade once The treasure of autocratic regime leaders is their political power and luxurious lifestyles, A dictator smiles upon evil. His character is that of a wicked man (JRE Link, 2022-0512 (Thu), COM-STR2). Dictators are tornadoes of evil (JRE Link, 2017-0921 (Thu), WSE-MAIN). Dictators run a dual campaign of terror and deceit in their countries, standing upon the Real democracies only please, not phony ones. Elections in autocratic countries are just Corruption in Government There are two types of corruption in government: (1) Explicit Corruption. (2) Implicit Corruption. Explicit corruption––the occasional government official breaking or skirting corruption Implicit corruption is the manner in which the inefficiency of government is made We are not alone in this problem. The political industries of all First World countries tend And in the case of those countries that are just learning representative government Capitalism is certainly not immune to corruption in its ranks. While it will succeed where Budgeting and the National Debt The national debt––it happened on the American people's watch. The selfishness and foolishness in passing irresponsible budgets year after year was We, the American people, are always demanding the impossible from government Fiscal irresponsibility doesn't help any of our nation's priorities. The budget The American people—what they want vs. what they need and can afford (JRE Link, 2020-0130 (Thu), COM-STR2). Simply put—the growing national debt is a disaster for our country. A bankrupt The great ship America is taking on more and more water (JRE Link, 2018-0220 (Tue), COM-STR2). The sequester is not the problem, it's the solution. The United States is spent... spent by Austerity... in other words, math. Obey the principles of math. The principles of math and the principles of fiscal responsibility go together. Remember, math works. Tragically, it's the political process most often that undermines The math to get to a balanced budget is easy, but economists of both political parties need To arrive at a balanced budget or a budget surplus in real terms, the political industry
budget, and certainly won’t keep it balanced for long even when it occasionally does happen. Why bother teaching our children the principles of math in school if we are not going to The Speaker of the House says these words––Welcome everyone. Today is the first day The bipartisan message to all voters is exactly opposite of what it should be. It is no The financial well-being of the nation has no allies in Congress (JRE Link, 2021-1219 (Sun), COM-STR2). Liberals are fiscally irresponsible (JRE Link, 2021-1219 (Sun), COM-STR2). Moderates are ambivalent with respect to deficit spending. They're willing to listen, but Conservatives complain about deficit spending, but provide no leadership or workable Politicians trick you into believing that government has unlimited money that can be Politicians are like the criminal flash mobs attacking department stores in woke cities. Big government ambitions put enormous pressure on the tax base of the American Deficit spending should be an occasional thing, not a regular thing. Let's not enter the jittery world of bigger and bigger deficits. The American people need Deficit spending puts the future in doubt. Not even the greatest economist can predict the Our national debt problem needs urgent attention––a high interest rate among Voices of reason, voices of fiscal sanity are shouted down or simply ignored in public A cry is heard among politicians and activists throughout the land: (JRE Link, 2021-1219 (Sun), COM-STR2) "We have smart economists who can disobey the principles of math. They will protect us "And we recommend that all Third World nations mimic our behavior, passing legislation Be honest with yourself, America. Be truthful. No more slight of hand in public policy (JRE Link, 2022-1121 (Mon), COM-STR2). America, you need to admit that you have a drinking problem. The casual drinking of Wanting it fixed vs. doing something about it––the failure of America's citizenry to care Mountains of debt are piling up and there is no one there to lead us out of the fiscal mess. I will protect your entitlements. I will reform entitlement spending, but only on the Entitlement reform is a routine act of Congress when there are no politicians around. The Solving this serious problem of runaway entitlements once and for all will allow America Fiscal responsibility will be a great treasure for our children and grandchildren, like a There needs to be checks and balances in government––checks for government It's time to make do with less government (JRE Link, 2019-0918 (Wed), WSE-MAIN). Take government by the hand and help her reduce expenditures, just like one does in Gain a testimony of a balanced budget (JRE Link, 2019-0918 (Wed), WSE-MAIN). Federal and state budgets should be set for one, two or three months at a time to keep The momentum gained by America actually reducing its national debt every month |
